Challenging Times

So much happening, trying to keep up to date is a matter of taking time out!
But this month is one to remember. The European  Leaders Advance Conference in Harrogate was inspiring in many ways, not least from the attendance from all over Europe and parts of the Middle East. To witness the healing of a broken leg, dyslexia, mental defects, blindness, spinal injuries - to name but a few that were demonstrated - added powerful truth of the testimony of Jesus. And hearing the testimony in the church of Derek Wall, who was diagnosed last year with terminal oesophageal cancer, received prayer, began with healing in his legs so he could walk without sticks at his first Alpha Holy Spirit encounter, was last Wednesday week signed off from the hospital as being completely clear of cancer! All praise to Almighty God.

Building the foundations for cell groups is well under way, and congratulations to all who have made such a great commitment towards the growth of this discipleship energy. The next steps in growing are nearly upon us - growing pains are necessary - we all go through them - but the results are all the more worth while.

While we are growing, we need to keep even more aware of what is happening in the region, the country and the nations. Corruption and violence is on the increase, but so is the revival of the Holy Spirit working throughout the world in power and love. The church has a major role to play in prayer, and we will find fulfilment and promise as we see prayer answered. The one thing that people who do not know Jesus need in the first instance is hope. When they find that in us, they will find truth and hope in Jesus.

May August be a great month for developing new relationships, and helping the community.
